Material

Linen

Linen remains one of the preeminent elements at Élitis. Today, the innovations of weavers and spinners are numerous and have revitalized this material. Its thinner and more resistant thread is suitable for a wider variety of uses, and its sound and hollow fiber endows it with a very high capacity for absorbing dye.

France is the world leader for the quality of its linen fibers. Most of the French production is sold to India and China where processing is then carried out. The rest is processed in France and Belgium, where the craftsmanship and tradition of linen have persisted.

Linen processing meets the highest requirements regarding environmental matters. From the root to the seed, the whole plant is used. Its cultivation is done without irrigation and the early stages of processing are natural and mechanical.
